Dutch Month in Sibiu

In 1997 the “Dutch Month” took place in Sibiu. This cultural month consisted of a visual art exhibition, theatre performances and workshops by Grims Paper Theatre, performances by Dutch pop group Cords as well as screening of documentaries. It was a cultural tour with forty people. In addition, two delegations from Deventer visited Sibiu to make direct contact with colleagues and fellow institutions in Sibiu. Finally a symposium took place. The goal was to provide a meeting platform for the artists and the public and to create new networks between the cultural institutions involved. In particular in the field of culture, the strengthening of the networks between institutions, individuals and local government in various fields - from Deventer and Sibiu - was important in developing a plan of action concerning existing and new programs.
