Music - various projects and events
Vocal Jazz Quartet and Trio Transsylvania from Sibiu were the first music groups who were invited to perform in Deventer after the connection between Sibiu and Deventer was made in 1989. End of December 1991 - beginning of January 1992 they made a successful tour in Deventer and Apeldoorn during cultural festival “Op de grens van 1992”.
Centrum voor Muziek en Dans (CMD), later renamed De Leeuwenkuil, in Deventer and Liceul de Arta in Sibiu have a longstanding relationship. In 1999 CMD celebrated it’s 150 anniversary. On that occasion they put together a special project called “A grand-piano for Sibiu”. The aim was to offer a grand-piano to Liceul de Arta by raising money through several actions and sponsorships in Deventer and surroundings. The project was a big success. In March 2000 the new grandpiano was handed over in Sibiu to Liceul de Arta.
