Art/Culture/Turism - various projects

Along the years, various projects, events and exchanges in art, culture and tourism between Sibiu and Deventer took place.

A few notable examples:

• the cultural exchange between Centrum voor Muziek en Dans Deventer and Liceul de Arta, Sibiu - Casa de Cultura Studenteasca Sibiu
• 1995 - "Europe Goes Classic" event organized in Deventer with the Romanian Philarmonic Orchestra as guest performer
• 1995-1996 - the exhibition "Mens Beeld" is organized in Deventer with Mircea Roman, Ion Birzan, Darie Dup and Napoleon Tiron (contemporary sculptures from Romania)
• 1997 - Taraf de Haidouks plays in Deventer
• 1998 - "Surori" (eng. sisters), a photography project about women and freedom by Els van Doornen

  From 1998 - 2001:
• World Music from Transylvania - several Romanian music groups perform in Deventer and the Netherlands (a.o. Ansamblul Ciocarlia)
•  free "lunch concerts" - as part of the “Deventer International” world musical series - are organised in Deventer
• filmfestival “From Balticum to Balkan” takes place in Deventer and Apeldoorn
• ​cultural-historical walking tours with groups to a.o. Apuseni- and Cindrel mountains
• a donation is made to help with the restoration of a small church in the Astra Open Air Museum
• collaboration between Astra Library in Sibiu and Stadsarchief and Athenaeumbibliotheek Deventer
• Junii Sibiului Folkloric Ensemble perform at Salland Festival in Raalte
  
  Since 2008 - networking and knowledge exchange visits: Deventer Theatre, Deventer Television, Hermannstadt Events, NetSib Foundation, Focus, Future Capital Romania, IA Sibiu, Mozaic Jazz Festival etc.
